The Diagnosis

Epilepsy. That is what is causing the seizures. Epilepsy. The seizures are happening on the right side of her brain and then "spreading" to the rest of her brain. She is now medicated and hopefully will either grow out of this (a 70% chance) or the medication will stop her from ever having one again. The other news.....I have to give her the medicine3 times a day!! I am doing well at remembering for now. She has her motor skills back and is not off balance anymore. She will go in for an MRI on June 12th but other than that, she is doing well. This is Laurens very first bike ride with daddy!
Josh is rolling over occasionally (he has realized that he can't roll back onto his back) and Noah is still loving his glasses. (he is far sighted). Emma gave another talk in her nursery class and is giving us "lessons" daily about how Jesus doesn't want us to yell. We love you all and are gratefull for your support! A special thanks to Dallas and Cecilia (mostly Cecilia) for taking the other kiddies when I was running Lauren to the doctors a ton and Noah to the Eye Doctor!!!

Lauren

Well, it happened again. Lauren, our sweet little 19 month old baby, had another seizure on Tuesday. I will admitt that this is probably the scariest thing that I have every gone through. I had feeling so powerless and holding her while her body convuses. We took her to the pediatrition and because there was no fever before or after the seizure they are sending her to the pediatric neurologist on May 12. We are praying that everything is ok and that we will find out why shes having the seizures. I'll try and update the blog on everyone else soon.

A WHOLE LOT OF PICTURES AND INFORMATION! February-March

I am sorry that it has taken so long to get a new posting up. It seems as though some days I have less time to do what I want than others. Also it seems that time is pass far faster that it did after Josh was born. So here is an extremely long post to make the grandparents and aunts and uncles happy!

This is the bedroom set that Tyrell got me for Valentines day, Mother's Day, Birthday, St. Patricks Day, Christmas, and anyother holiday for the next 10-20 years! He does have romantic bones (just buried deep)

We had some good weather so Tyrell and the Kids went outside to clean up the yard. Here Emma is trying to help Lauren walk across they front yard. This was probably in the beginning of March!

These are just some more pictures of the kids helping daddy in the back yard. They were in charge of picking up all the sticks and pinecones.....however they were easily distracted and started making a kind of "soup" out of all the yard trash. They had a good time that day. Tyrell also built Emma a swing out of rope and a board...and tied it to the large pine tree in the back yard. She loves it...or rather loved it until Tyrell put up my hammock swing.

Here is a picture of lauren having a great time finding different "treasures" in the yard. She would have to fight Noah for it though!
On March 23, 2009 Emma offically turned 4!! It's hard for me to believe that she's been with us for so long. I made her a pink cake of cupcakes.....when she saw it she turned to me and said.." Mom, it's supposed to be GREEN!" Which I though funny because she is always asking for pink presents from EVERYONE! Anyway we had a good time and had the Dallas Maughan Family to help celebrate! We thought that you would enjoy these pictures and videos that we took of the celebration!

Here is a great shot of Lauren. This was the first time that I can remember her WANTING me to take her picture. She had just finished eating her cupcake and was having a great time! Below: Emma had gotten a new dress from Mommy and Daddy!

Well here is the "reunion" at the Maughan family homestead in Paul, Idaho. It was a blast although very loud and occasionally smell from the abundance of diapers. The grand total of attendee's staying:

11-Adults

15-kids under the age of 5

5- kids over the age of 5

Here are some of our "super heros" One the left is Noah and the right is Hyrum!

Noah just got is new Jammies and he was pretty excited about them! I hope that everyone notices that there is actually a CAPE on the back of these pajamas! Oh COOL HUH?!

This was an Ice Cream Party! This kids loved it, especially because of the ice cream cones.

Emma is such a cheezer! She had so much fun and her grandparents house...especially because of the trampoline and all the playmates! Emma had hitched a ride down to Paul a day earlier with her Aunt Sharlyn. She didn't have any problems with her mom and dad not being there to tuck her in. She told me before she left that she would be ok because Grandma Maughan was going to be there to tuck her in at night.

We had to feed the kids first and then feed the adults because of all the confusion and chaos of feeding 20 kiddies! Most of whom do not understand the word patience! It was unbelieveable to see them all together. There are only 4 grandkids that were not here for the weekend (Nate, Tyler, Sakina, and Nick)

Lauren was living it up at her Grandparents. She would barely make a noise and someone would bring her food or drink. She is still continues to drool however.
No trip to the In-laws would be complete without Tyrell falling asleep on his favorite couch. He had spent alot of ihs time cleaning up his moms yard (which he just love doing) and spending time with his dad. The minute he pulled in the drive way he got out and started helping his Dad fix a tractor.

Suzanne had rallied the kids and got them all to sing for us.....I guess it was really only the older kids that were singing.

Then we had singing time with Uncle Dustin and his Guitar! Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes was a popular song as was Scripture power and Jesus wants me for a sunbeam.

Well I do believe this is the proof that I needed to say that Noah is "blessed" with an eye that turns in just like his mommy! I hope he doesn't have to have the thick bottle coke glasses that I had to have.

At the end of the weekend, we were all exhausted. This is a great example of how most of us felt. This is Oliver, one of my nephews. He had been upset about not having M&M's and finally just slumped to the kitchen floor and fell asleep! How he slept on the kitchen floor with all the cleaning and kids running around and screaming is beyond me!

Crazy March storm! We got around 4 to 5 inches! It was pretty depressing to go from the grass turning green to a blizzard!

Here is a picture of our happy little Joshua from today. He loves his jumper and is offically 4 months old. He loves to smile and is not happy unless hes sitting up straight or standing up. He has a great personality thus far! Also a VERY powerful set of lungs! Down below are pictures of Lauren and Noah playing in my shoes. They were haveing so much fun and laughing up a storm. Im so grateful for the children that I've been blessed to have in my life.

A TON OF PICS AND MOVIES FOR THE GRANDPARENTS!

Here is a great shot of how much Noah love to play with hats! He thought he was so cute!
Lauren has found the perfect chair for herself here, and loves to read like mommy!

This is the stuffed grizzly bear that my brother Bryce got Lauren for Christmas. She loves to lay on that huge, soft bear! I think it reminds her of her favorite uncle!

These are Noahs favorite pajamas that his Aunt Annie got him when she came to visit. When we ask him where he got the jammies he shouts "ANNIE"

Emma apparently decided that her bear needed some panties....the video below explains it all I think!

Here is a picture of Noah a couple of mornings ago. I was a bit worried because his lips were so purple....then at second glance I noticed how dry and chapped under his lip was and all I could think about was my little sister annie and how she used to get the same thing.

These two pictures are of Josh's first few smiles. The bottom picture is about a week old and the one above is from tonight! I can't believe how fast he is growing. We are still not sure who he looks like....not even with his brother or sisters. He offically was two months old on Feb. 3!

Emma has such a great imagination and we try to catch as much on video as we can. We conducted and interview so that everyone could enjoy her brilliance. She is adorable and we are so grateful that the Lord blessed us to be her parents.

Here, we tried to get Noah to talk about his bear and moose named Trouble and Spankin'. He has quite the imagination himself.

Welcome to our new site!

Well we got a new blog due to the length of the title of the last.... ANYWAY.... we have been great. I have finally got a new schedule worked out with the kids..mostly so I don't go crazy. Here is the update on our family... -Emma is doing great and loving life. She has three stuffed animals that she calls her "kids". We are starting to work on teaching her letters and numbers. I have to admit I am anti-preschool (but that’s another story). Emma is now in primary and LOVING it. She can't wait to go to church ever week. She spends as much time as possible outside in the snow. She and Noah have become the best of friends, especially when they play in the snow. -Noah is doing much better since he started taking a steroid for his asthma. He repeats everything anyone says but also comes up with is own material. Tyrell asks him every night what he named his stuffed bear and stuffed moose...Noah finally replied two nights ago and said that his bear was named trouble and his moose was named spankin'. We got a kick out of that one. We are hoping to start potty training in another two months when he will be 2 1/2 years old. -Lauren is just the happiest little girl. No matter what mood I'm in, one look at her smile and I can't help but laugh. She is officially walking and starting to talk. Tyrell takes the three outside almost every day and Lauren loves it...but mostly because she gets to eat the snow. -Joshua is doing great. He is putting on weight like crazy and will officially be two months old next week. We found out that he as what is called a "micro-formed cleft" which means that he had a cleft in the womb, but it healed by itself. So he has what looks like a scar that runs from his left nostril down to his lip, a small cleft in his gum line, a low soft palate, and a few hearing issues. We are SO grateful that it healed itself before he was born. He goes to see the plastic surgeon at the end of Feb to make sure everything is good in his nose area. We are all doing amazing and we hope you enjoy these pictures and videos!!!
