We Need Help

where to even begin?
My dad died in the early morning of Sept. 18th this year. He was 62, so it came as a shock. Tyrell and I got tickets that day and flew out on the 19th. Yep, we took all 4 kids with us and stayed in NY for a little over a week. My dad and I weren't really close, but I loved him for the man he had become in my eyes, these last few years. It was great to see my brothers and sister (my half sister Niki was there also). It had been over 3 years since I last saw most of my family. It was an interesting trip and Tyrell said he would like to move in that direction (because of all the green!) The kids were FANTASTIC! I don't remember any screaming or fits on any of the 5 planes we were on! What a bunch of troopers. The kids fell in love with their aunts and uncles in all shapes and forms (I have alot of step-siblings, fiance's, girlfriends, half-sibling in the fam) They were sad to come home. On the last plane, we got into SLC at 11pm and Noah screamed after we got off that he wanted to get on another one.

The day after the funeral, Noah, decided to drink ALL of Laurens seizure medicine. So Tyrell and I rushed him to a small hospital near my moms home. By that point he had become lathargic, and then we had to make him drink over a cup of charcoal....that was disgusting....we would get some down and then he would throw it up (which is a good thing to get the meds out) Then after they tried 3 times to get an IV in, they sent us in an ambulence to Rochester, NY (a hospital similar to primary childrens) It was too bad he slept the whole drive b/c he would have loved to see the ambulence. At the hospital in Rochester they rushed us put to the PICU and got him hooked up to a ton of monitors. By the way, the times that Noah was awake all he wanted was his Daddy. For the first few hours we were there he would stop breathing and we would have to wake him up over and over. Needless to say after sleeping the rest of the night he was back to himself in the morning, only now knowing "don't drink LOLO's medicine!) A lesson I hope he will always remember. The total bill for this adventure was somewhere in the $9,000 catagory (bless UPS and their insurance because we didnt pay a dime!)

We then had a few birthdays to celebrate. Lauren had turned 2 on the 17th of Sept. Noah turned 3 on the 30th of Sept., and Tyrell turned 28 on the 19th of Oct. Im really all caked out! But the kids had a great time (they had a party at home, a party with grandma/pa Gilmore in NY, and another party with my siblings and step-mom in a different house in NY)
On October 8th we had found out that we were going to get another little boy! I have to admitt I was hoping for a girl - mostly because I miss baby dresses and my little girls are so laid back and easy. We will go in for a second ultrasound on Nov. 19th to make sure there is no cleft lip/palate but other than that we are doing good and the baby is very active.
We were starting to get back into the swing of things at home and then realized that Halloween was coming up. Anyone who has kids knows that the kids ask to wear their costumes almost every day! Needless to say, the day finally came and they had a blast. Noah made off the best at the trunk or treat - he dressed as a fireman (the only one at the party) and so the city firefighters loaded up his bag with candy. Now the kids are asking when we are going to Grandma Maughans for Thanksgiving.

One of the best things to happen recently was that Tyrell and I found and bought a piano!!! I have always wanted to learn, and now I get to! Although I have to say that so far, my mind and hands are preferring the Flute (that maybe because I have played flute since 4th grade!) The kids have been playing it constantly and Emma will start learning after I get better at it.

So many things have happened that have strengthened me and blessed my life. I am so grateful for the family I have, whether it is in New York, Pennsylvania, Florida, Texas, and especially Idaho. We love all our friends out there, that are spread throughout the country now! Thanks for the support after the passing of my father!

A Few Busy Months
We had a CRAZY July. While my parents were here, we also played host for the following:
- Aunt Kathy & Isaac (her grandson)
- Megan & Nate + 4 kids
- Marcus & Rachelle
- Catherine & Wade (Emily & Jonathan)

This is a picture of a typical day for the kids. They often go out side to pick what rasberries are left and to see if they can hunt up any strawberries. They really enjoy picking their own fruit. Yesturday I found that Lauren had picked a green bell pepper and was eating it like an apple.

New Rooms!
Well here are our recent happenings. Today, Lauren, had a visit with her neurologist- the diagnosis is that she will be on meds for 2 more years and then a new EEG and if there have been no seizures, they will take her off her meds.
Josh is rolling and mad he still can't keep up with his siblings!Friday, June 19, 2009
Catching up with life...or trying to.
Tyrell-Has been working hard, and rarely gets home before 9pm unless he has scouts. Which he is now the New Scout Master as well as the Cub Scout Master....poor man! He is still working for UPS and Picture Perfect Landscaping..(which he likes most of the time) and he is also thinking about getting some lawns to mow....(as if he wasn't working long enough hours already) BUT we do love him and apprechiate all the work he puts in to pay for our lifestyle!
Emma- Is now getting ready for kindergarten-in 2011- by learning to read and write her letters. She loves to learn and knows A, B, C, and a little of D. She is a crack up and has become the mommy of the kids.
Noah- Well Noah is a stud with his new glasses and he LOVES to wear them. He can see so much better now, and is running and no tripping. Also he did have an asthma attack this last weekend so Tyrell was good enough to take him to the doctor on Monday. Apparently he has a little bronchitis to go with it. He now takes an antibiotic 3x a day and uses his nebulizer 3x a day! Oh happy day for me!
Lauren- She seems to be doing great on her meds for siezures, which I get to give her 3x a day. Last friday she had an MRI and we will find out the results of that on this coming Monday! She started teething again and is FINALLY getting in her last 4 teeth!
Josh- He has become a rolling fool! He wants to keep up with the big kids so he started rolling suddenly, and now gets frustrated that he still cannot keep up with their running. He is running a temp. and hopefully its just growing pains or teething. So he gets pain reliever every 4 hrs.
I AM SO SICK OF MEDICINE! I feel like that is all I've been doing. I'm sure the saying- "When it rains it pours" goes into effect here----which also reminds me-- here in Idaho we have been recieving constant rain for almost 2 1/2 weeks! CRAZY!
In other news I have finally got the 72 hr kits for the family done. I just need to add in the clothes, diapers, formula, and important papers/money. IM SO EXCITED! Next is to expand our basic 1 year food storage! Hopefully we have a good garden and I can learn to can everything!

I have started running too! My exersize plan will hopefully go well, but at least I'm getting all my old energy back! My mom and her husband will be coming out to Idaho for about a month and I am so so so excited! It will be so nice to have my family here.
Well anyway I will attempt to add pictures later! The kids don't understand why I spend time doing this so I'm not sure when I will be able to! We love you all!

The Diagnosis
Epilepsy. That is what is causing the seizures. Epilepsy. The seizures are happening on the right side of her brain and then "spreading" to the rest of her brain. She is now medicated and hopefully will either grow out of this (a 70% chance) or the medication will stop her from ever having one again. The other news.....I have to give her the medicine3 times a day!! I am doing well at remembering for now. She has her motor skills back and is not off balance anymore. She will go in for an MRI on June 12th but other than that, she is doing well. This is Laurens very first bike ride with daddy!

Lauren
Well, it happened again. Lauren, our sweet little 19 month old baby, had another seizure on Tuesday. I will admitt that this is probably the scariest thing that I have every gone through. I had feeling so powerless and holding her while her body convuses. We took her to the pediatrition and because there was no fever before or after the seizure they are sending her to the pediatric neurologist on May 12. We are praying that everything is ok and that we will find out why shes having the seizures. I'll try and update the blog on everyone else soon.Saturday, April 4, 2009
A WHOLE LOT OF PICTURES AND INFORMATION! February-March

This is the bedroom set that Tyrell got me for Valentines day, Mother's Day, Birthday, St. Patricks Day, Christmas, and anyother holiday for the next 10-20 years! He does have romantic bones (just buried deep)
We had some good weather so Tyrell and the Kids went outside to clean up the yard. Here Emma is trying to help Lauren walk across they front yard. This was probably in the beginning of March!
These are just some more pictures of the kids helping daddy in the back yard. They were in charge of picking up all the sticks and pinecones.....however they were easily distracted and started making a kind of "soup" out of all the yard trash. They had a good time that day. Tyrell also built Emma a swing out of rope and a board...and tied it to the large pine tree in the back yard. She loves it...or rather loved it until Tyrell put up my hammock swing. Here is a picture of lauren having a great time finding different "treasures" in the yard. She would have to fight Noah for it though!
On March 23, 2009 Emma offically turned 4!! It's hard for me to believe that she's been with us for so long. I made her a pink cake of cupcakes.....when she saw it she turned to me and said.." Mom, it's supposed to be GREEN!" Which I though funny because she is always asking for pink presents from EVERYONE! Anyway we had a good time and had the Dallas Maughan Family to help celebrate! We thought that you would enjoy these pictures and videos that we took of the celebration!

Below: Emma had gotten a new dress from Mommy and Daddy!
Well here is the "reunion" at the Maughan family homestead in Paul, Idaho. It was a blast although very loud and occasionally smell from the abundance of diapers. The grand total of attendee's staying:
11-Adults
15-kids under the age of 5

This was an Ice Cream Party! This kids loved it, especially because of the ice cream cones.

Emma is such a cheezer! She had so much fun and her grandparents house...especially because of the trampoline and all the playmates! Emma had hitched a ride down to Paul a day earlier with her Aunt Sharlyn. She didn't have any problems with her mom and dad not being there to tuck her in. She told me before she left that she would be ok because Grandma Maughan was going to be there to tuck her in at night.

We had to feed the kids first and then feed the adults because of all the confusion and chaos of feeding 20 kiddies! Most of whom do not understand the word patience! It was unbelieveable to see them all together. There are only 4 grandkids that were not here for the weekend (Nate, Tyler, Sakina, and Nick)

Lauren was living it up at her Grandparents. She would barely make a noise and someone would bring her food or drink. She is still continues to drool however.
No trip to the In-laws would be complete without Tyrell falling asleep on his favorite couch. He had spent alot of ihs time cleaning up his moms yard (which he just love doing) and spending time with his dad. The minute he pulled in the drive way he got out and started helping his Dad fix a tractor.
Suzanne had rallied the kids and got them all to sing for us.....I guess it was really only the older kids that were singing.
Then we had singing time with Uncle Dustin and his Guitar! Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes was a popular song as was Scripture power and Jesus wants me for a sunbeam.

At the end of the weekend, we were all exhausted. This is a great example of how most of us felt. This is Oliver, one of my nephews. He had been upset about not having M&M's and finally just slumped to the kitchen floor and fell asleep! How he slept on the kitchen floor with all the cleaning and kids running around and screaming
is beyond me!Crazy March storm! We got around 4 to 5 inches! It was pretty depressing to go from the grass turning green to a blizzard!
